Jake Phillips

Inspector

Jake was introduced to outdoor activities from a young age whilst growing up in west Cornwall. Following a degree in Outdoor Education he worked in the outdoor industry in Pembrokeshire. He then worked as a freelance instructor for many years throughout the UK and for a variety of centres and organisations. Currently, as well as working for Adventure RMS, his own work involves delivering instructor training courses, skills courses, and guiding.

Jake holds qualifications in climbing, mountaineering, kayaking, canoeing, and mountain biking. He is also a Mountain Training course director for the Lowland Leader, Hill and Moorland Leader, Mountain Leader, and Rock Climbing Instructor qualifications.

Jake is a keen climber and mountaineer but can also be found out in the mountains on his bike or on the sea in his kayak. Some of his favourite trips from the past few years have been sea kayaking around Pembrokeshire’s amazing islands, mountain biking the lord of the loops in the Peak District, new routing in the Adwa mountains of Northern Ethiopia and mountaineering in the central Alaskan Range.
