David has worked as an outdoor professional for more than twenty-five years, having first discovered a passion for climbing through a local mountaineering club.
He initially became a volunteer instructor for multiple youth organisations and his daughter’s school prior to retraining for a career in the outdoor industry.
David has worked as a paddlesports instructor, senior instructor, chief instructor and as a school Outdoor Adventurous Activities Manager. He has worked as a European expedition leader and has been an Approved Activity Provider for the expedition section of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
For the past decade, David has worked as a freelance instructor for a wide range of organisations, and has extensive experience as a Technical Expert within the climbing sector. He is currently a provider and director for all the Mountain Training indoor climbing qualifications.
A committed climber, David holds a degree in English Literature and, alongside a busy professional life, makes as much time as possible to spend with his two daughters and his grandchildren.
